Settle for misery or change

Change is scary.

Change is extremely uncomfortable.

It is never one thing that changes.

It comes and uproots everything you’ve once known.

It’s the fear of change that keeps people from ever doing something different. The fear of what other people will say. The fear of failing. Change forces us to leave our safe and comfort zone. You have to keep in mind that comfort is dangerous too. Comfort can become dysfunctional when we get it from the wrong place.

This is why so many people never change.

I believe God places the best things about life on the other side of fear. Fear enables us. Stops us from pursuing our dreams, leaving abusive relationships (mental/emotional), doing what WE want to do.

If you don’t do what you can’t stop thinking about, you’re doing yourself an injustice.  Decide to go for it (whatever that is, for you). Everything that’s meant for you will always be for you. Even if things don’t work out at first, believe in the power of YET. Take all that you can from the experience and try it another way. I don’t believe we are  given visions/dreams to just leave them in that state.

Make a decision.

Decisions are daunting, but the earlier you choose, the more you can focus your energies on maximizing your chances of achieving your goals.

It all comes down to two things…

Decide to change or settle.

“At some point in your life you made an appointment to be there”

Reflection: What do you need to change and what are you waiting for? What have you allowed to become too comfortable in your presence?

Dysfunctional Comfort
